I sought the help of Katie as a coach during a time when I felt unhappy with work. She was approachable and friendly and I felt comfortable opening up to her about my situation. One of the tools she used really helped me to visualise what is important to me. I slowly started to realise with her guidance that being a consultant wasn't the main life goal, being happy was! This might sound very straightforward but often medics are on a "treadmill" of a particular career path and the thought of stepping off is daunting and I felt like I was failing or giving up. Katie helped me to realise that leaving that ‘expected’ path wasn't any sort of failure. She never told me what decision to make, she supported me to come to that decision myself. Work colleagues and friends all had their opinions about what I should do, but I felt like I could open up to Katie without being judged. I would highly recommend Katie to anyone else with questions about their career; in fact I have mentioned Katie by name to a colleague who then sought out sessions my recommendation. She helped me do the thinking and take the steps to find the job I love in a Hospice. I would highly recommend her!

I really valued the space to think things through in a non-judgemental friendly way. The flexibility around sessions (i.e.remotely/different times) helped as well and it was amazing how my thought processes became clearer in just a few sessions. It helped me feel confident in making a decision to have a career break and choose a consultant job. I would definitely recommend Katie.

Coaching sessions with Katie were extremely valuable as a space for me to speak freely about my thoughts and feelings in regards to my training and career and to help me think more about different kinds of options available to me in the future. Katie was supportive and approachable throughout all our sessions. She really listened to what I was struggling with and helped me think beyond this. She helped me think outside the box and about what I really valued in my life and what was most important to me- this was a refreshing change as you don’t often get space to do this in training/throughout your career! I would highly recommend Katie for a coach/mentor to anyone else in the future.

My coaching experience with you has been incredibly positive, and I look forward to every coaching session I have with you. You have been an excellent coach and mentor, giving me plenty of space to reflect on my current achievements and helping me look at options with different and varying career paths, both in the NHS and out of it. You have asked deep and meaningful questions throughout our sessions which have helped me gain a better understanding of what my life priorities are and how my future career can work around them. I would more than be happy to recommend you as a coach to my colleagues, and am now in a much better place with where I want my career to take me, having worked with you.

I felt you created a safe supportive space where I could discuss my feelings and thoughts out loud. It was useful to carry out some of the exercises you recommended too. I think had I not pursued coaching sessions I would have made a decision that would not have been the best thing for me. Thank you for your help, time and support. I am quite grateful.

I worked with Katie a point in my life when I was at a crossroad, feeling confused, split and unsure about my next steps. I didn't want to make a sentimental decision but wanted to get it right after considering all aspects. I found the space to be non-judgmental and relaxing and was usually looking forward to the next session. It empowered me to make objective decisions and confidently work through the steps required in doing so. I liked the fact that Katie stimulated my thought process by asking questions, but also being happy to listen through pros and cons with me. She not only listened to me but read my body language despite being on virtual sessions. I feel this is a skill for every coach to aspire to. She gave me things to think about in a structured way, after the sessions and I always felt the takeaway action points were clear for me to work from. I felt I had the right level of support for me. Katie was flexible with the meetings and always seemed relaxed and genuinely interested. I feel that is key, particularly when a coachee is working through difficult decisions.
